Victorville Mayor Rudy Cabriales congratulated Koelsch on being a major contributor to the community, including the community’s education of families who are caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s. Representing County Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt’s office was Jessie Flores, who presented a resolution.
Koelsch also recognized staff members and praised them for their professionalism and loyalty. One employee, Don Barber, has worked his way through the ranks and his 16 years of service at multiple Koelsch properties has proven effective in his role as Executive Director of Sterling Inn.
Primary among other employees recognized for their service was Debbie Staggs, Executive Director and Director of Resident Services for Sterling Commons. Mrs. Staggs’ leadership and knowledge as a Registered Nurse propels Sterling Commons to the top, and allows the community to continue to provide the very best in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care.
Tropical refreshments were served by Maui Wowie Smoothies, and entertainment by a steel drum band set the mood for the event. Casa de Vino provided several varieties of wine for guests to enjoy during the event.
A beautifully presented buffet of Caribbean style hors d’oeuvres was prepared by the Sterling Communities’ own catering staff. It was delicious and representative of the quality meals served to residents of Sterling Senior Communities.
Tours of the new wing addition to the existing Sterling Commons were guided by staff members. Comments such as, “I want to live here,” and “move me in now,” could be heard as people viewed the beautifully-appointed bedrooms and common areas.
Sterling Senior Communities has two communities here in the High Desert.
Sterling Inn is located next door to Sterling Commons, and is designed for independent or assisted living. Aging is a natural progression of life that is supported by the staff at Sterling Senior Communities. The owners and staff believe that residents deserve the comfort of knowing they may receive increased levels of care when and if the need arises.
The Koelsch tradition and vision employs this simple philosophy: “Treat all people with the respect they deserve and the special attention they may need.”
Coupled with wise business acumen, this philosophy has endured, and Koelsch Senior Communities remains one of the leading independently owned senior housing operators on the West Coast.
