Living Well with Music
The Koelsch Communities Music Program was specially designed to tap into our deep-rooted love of music. In the world of dementia, music can act as a powerful force to break memory loss barriers. Whether a resident is suffering from Alzheimer’s, other forms of dementia, or a wide range of cognitive and physical impairments, hearing musical favorites can reach memories not lost to dementia. It’s amazing to see a resident “reawaken,” enabling them to feel like themselves again, converse, socialize and stay present.
Here at Rock Creek, our staff is trained to set up personalized music playlists for our residents, so join us in the amazing journey of connecting elders with memory loss to the music of a lifetime.
