Fresno, CA (April 18, 2016) – Alzheimer’s Foundation Walk/Run gave their Above & Beyond Appreciation Award to Lisa Poole-Johnson, Executive Director for Cedarbrook Memory Care. Lisa is a huge fan of helping where she can and while she was living in Virginia her walk teams raised over $57,000 in four short years.
“It is just heartbreaking to see what families go through and those that are stricken with Alzheimer’s. My own Grandmother had Alzheimer’s and passed just this January,” said Lisa.
Lisa is not known for sitting around and since this time last year, she has registered ten walkers, donated time, had Cedarbrook sponsor the walk and had her head shaved. That is correct, this year at the walk, she put her hair up for bid and raised an additional $675.
“I wanted to set an example to my staff that I don’t just say it, I LIVE IT, I MEAN IT and I’m DEDICATED and care about the care they give to our residents. I want to spark conversation about Alzheimer’s so those that may be caring for someone will reach out for some help and support because they cannot do it alone”, exclaimed Lisa.
